International Grotesque Fine Art and Crafts Competition and Exhibition

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Bohumil Hrabal, we are also happy to receive homage artworks to him and his works.

 

The Kapos ART Fine Art and Crafts Organization announces the 9th International Grotesque Fine Art and Crafts Competition.

The exhibition is a featured event of the Rippl-Rónai festival of Kaposvár. The exhibition will take place between 28th of May and 15th of August, 2015 in the Vaszary Gallery of Kaposvár.

 

Works should be sent  from 28th of May, 2015 till 15th of August,

Deadline: 28th of february, 2015.

The competition is open to any fine artist and craftsman of any limitation on genre, style or medium.

 

The competition is international, we are expecting entries from abroad, including the Visegrad countries of Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland.

Our aim is to build strong relationship with hungarian and international contemporary literature. We are expecting grotesque literary entries, which will be published in the exhibition’s catalogue.

Terms of participation:

- Works should be sent in exhibitable state.

- Number of works is limited to three per genre.

- Series considered as single work, but the jury can limit the amount to be accepted.

- Fragile works are only accepted in proper protective packaging.

- Weight limit is 50kg.

- Paintings should not be larger than 150cm.

- Works should be no older than 2 years.

- We don't take responsibility for the condition of works submitted by mail.

- Cost of mailing should be covered by the submitter.

- Works rejected by the jury, and works not taken back by the artist will be kept in storage for a year, and we don’t take responsibility for them after that.

 

Submitted works should be clearly labeled with the following: name and address of the artist, the title, genre, technique of the artwork, the time of it's creation, and it's size.

 

The submitted works will be juried by an appointed table of artists and experts. Applicants will be noted about the results by e-mail.

A catalogue about the exhibition will be published. Every exhibitor will receive a copy of it.

 

Authors of the works rejected by the jury will be contacted by e-mail, regarding the return of said works. Cost of postage rests on the artist.

 

The Kapos ART Fine Arts and Crafts Association founded the International Grotesque Arts and Crafts Collection in 1996, from the offerings of the participating artists. Our aim is to expand this collection. Please indicate the intent of offering on the back of the artwork, or on the submission form, if you are offering your work for the collection.

 

The organizers of the 9th International Grotesque Competition wish successful creative work.
